Marilyn Waring says 'Thank You Canada' at the Human Rights Monument

The event took place as a part of the celebration of the publication of her book 1 Way 2 C the World - writings 1984 - 2006.

New Zealand’s Marilyn Waring, political scientist, author, and activist, celebrates launching and discussion of her book 1Way 2 C the World - writings 1984 - 2006 at the Ottawa Public Library.

"It’s an honour for me" Dr. Waring wrote on learning the EVENT would be included in the Tribute’s website.

Marilyn Waring has a long and enthusiastic relationship with Canada. In June 1995 at the time of the G7 Summit in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the National Film Board of Canada premiered her documentary film Look Who’s Watching at the Peoples’ Summit taking place at the same time. Waring has a long history of research and advocacy in human rights issues. She served three terms in New Zealand’s Parliament, where she became renowned for her advocacy work. Currently, she is a Professor in the Institute of Public Policy, Auckland University of Technology, Auckland, New Zealand.
